Care for the Straw Handbags and Straw Hats
-
Remove stains or spots with a damp cloth and soap dabbing the stain spot with the cloth. Repeat this process with a damp cloth without soap and let air dry. If the hat or bag has been left on a humid space this may distort the straw. Lay a damp cloth or t-shirt on the part that needs to be reshaped and pass a warm iron over it to reshape it. This method can be used to manipulate the shape of the brim if you prefer it to flip up or down, as well.
-
Our handbags and hats are crafted entirely from Toquilla Straw, a natural fiber originating from Ecuador. Its production is entirely handmade, emphasizing the need for careful handling.
*Please note that these handbags are not designed for carrying excessively heavy items.
Care for the Ponchos and Pashminas
- The best way to keep your Poncho and Pashmina in perfectly good state is to hand wash only with cold water.
- For the Poncho or Pashmina to drain the excess water, we must place a towel on a flat surface, then stretch the garment over it, finally make a roll with the towel and the garment. In this way the water will drain off without damaging the Poncho or the Pashmina.
- To prevent the garment from shrinking or fluffing, avoid contact with hot water and avoid wringing or drying the garment by squeezing it.
- To preserve the original color of your Poncho or Pashmina please avoid drying it by exposing it directly to the sun, keep it in the shade.
- You can dry clean your alpaca garments.
WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID
- Never use a washing machine.
- Never use a tumble dryer.
- You should never use bleach.
- Alpaca fiber is very sensitive, it should never be ironed.
- Never hang your Poncho or Pashmina wet, if you do it will lose its original shape.
- The fabric should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
